"Choice Of Life"

          In this generation which is the 21st century everything is changing as well as the gender of a person. LGBTQIA+ is a community where you don't belong with the male and female category. It is a community where you define your gender differently from male and female.  There's is so-called "coming out". This is a way of unveiling your true self to others. This is a trend nowadays especially the world is becoming more liberated which people could show what they really are.

           One of the examples is the letter of Michael. The letter that he made for his mom was a coming out letter which in that letter, stated that he is homosexual.

             From what I felt while reading the letter of Michael is that I felt pityness for him and somewhat emotional as he was keeping his true gender for a long time. His situation is difficult 'cause as he grows, he faced "gender discrimination" which means that he was treated badly by people in a manner that it hurts his feelings. Gender discrimination is constant especially to those people who are homophobics.

             The social reality depicted Michael's letter is "gender discrimination" wherein a person's gender really matters a lot. Revealing your true self is not easy that's why there's always a right time for everything, meaning let your confidence get full and brave enough to face any reaction or opinions of people. What really matters is your intention to people. Let them hate as haters will always hate.

              To help people who are the same as the situation of Michael is to cheer them up and listen to their feelings. Being optimistic is one way to gather confidence with ease. Be there to those people who have this kind of problem 'cause I truly believe in good karma in which if you do the good thing, good thing will happen to you. Live your life to the fullest as you choose what life you wanted to have and make sure you don't stomp someone's life or that will make you regret soon.
           

         

"Essence of Family In My Teenage Life"

    Essence of family In my teenage life is that I'm thankful to Him to have a family who loves me unconditionally and supported me everything that I've love to do in my life. My family is the gift from God and I'm fortunate to have them. Whenever we feel down and bombarded with problems, My family always stay optimistic and always think that problems are gonna pass by and everything has a reason. I truly believe that family is essential for us to continue to live. 

      Family is the people who are with you in your ups and downs of your life. They are the people who supported, nurtured and disciplined you and shaped you to become a better person. Family day is a day where you could spend time and show your talents and your family's talents to everyone. Asian College of Technology held an event which is the "Family day" . On that day a lot of things happened aside from eating luscious food, we also have dance competition which includes the parents. For me, that day was awesome 'cause everyone was filled in with euphoric spirits. I had a lot of realization that day. Family does not only includes your relatives or people who have the same blood line same as you but also your friends can also be your family as they share moments with you. They are also with you when you're not fine and need to talk to. I'm also thankful to have them.

   We should Cherish moments with our families 'cause life is short and only memories are permanent and can be treasured. Through this kind of event, my relationship with my mom got stronger. This is my first time dancing and competing with my mom. We should love them with all our hearts, souls and minds as they also love. Family is love, a love that is unconditionally and that will last longer than any relationships.

CAT SURVIVAL CAMP 2020: Ang Aking Karanasan at Pagsasakatuparan

           Ito ang isang panyayari o kaganapan sa mga ika-10 na baitang kung saan masusubukan ang kanilang kakayahan sa iba't-ibang pagsubok na kanilang mapagdaanan. Ika- 11 at 12 ng Enero ay ito ang araw kung saan lahat ng ika-10 na baitang ay pinaghandaan ito. Ako bilang pinuno ng pulutong ng Delta ay pimaghandaan ang lahat maliban sa mga kagamitan ay hinanda ko rin ang aking sarili mapisikal, emosyonal,  at esprituwal. Alam ko kapag sinasabi natin "Survival Camp' ay mapapasubok ka talaga o sa madaling salita, lahat ng pagkatao mo ay mapasubok.

            Sa unang araw ng "Survival Camp" ay nagkaroon ng inspirasyong mensahe ang punong-guro ng eskwelahan at ang nakakaigting na salita naibinahagi ng punong-guro kung ano ba nag totoong kahulugan ng "Camp". Communicating openly, ito ang ang kahulugan ng "C". Ang pag-uusap ng bukas ay isang paraan upang maintindihan at iwas problema na pwedeng mapagdaanan. Ang paraan na ito ay mabisa upang mas madaling solusyonan ang problema.

Ang "A" naman ay ibig sabihin ay Achieving your goals/. Ito ay naghuhulugan na kapag may gusto ka sa buhay mo ay dapat mo ito hawakan at hindi susukuan dahil kapag may gusto, may paraan.

Ang kahulugan ng "M" naman ay Moments to cherish. Gaano paman kahirap ang pagsubok ay ngumiti parin at yamanin ang mga sandali sa buhay dahil ang memorya o mga alaala ang mananatili sa iyo. Ang "P" ay naghuhulugan ng Pay attention. Ito ang salita kung saan ipinahiwatig na dapat tumuon sa kasalukuyan at wag muna problemahin ang bukas.

 Ang "Survival camp" ay isang pangyayari kung saan lahat ng kahulugan ng "CAMP" ay nagagamit. Ang pagsimula ng apoy gamit lang ang kahoy ay isa sa napakahirap gawin pero sa paglipas ng oras ay masasanay ka at mas maging madali ito sayo. Ang pagluto ay madali ngunit hindi mo makokontol na maigi ang apoy dahilan sa paghihirap sa amin at sa akin ng konti.

      Sa kabuuan sa mga naganap sa "Survival Camp" ay nakatulong ito sa akin at sa lahat ng CAT dahil ito ay nagpamulat sa aming sa katotohanan kung ano ba talaga ang buhay. Ang mga aktibidad na naganap ay pinapalakas niya ito ang aking buong pagkatao dahil nasusubukan niya ang ang aking pisikal, emosyonal, pag-iisip at espirituwal na lakas. Dahil sa pursigido at determinasyon ng aking pulutong Delta ay kami ang nahalal bilang pinakamahusay na pulutong.

            

Effects Of Neglecting The Importance Of Reproductive System

           Human beings have systems on their bodies such as nervous system, digestive system, endocrine system, muscular syetem, respiratory system and such. But let's focus on reproductive system. Reproductive system or genital system is responsible of sexual reproduction meaning, it consists of sex organs for us to reproduce another living organisms or new life forms. Hygience is also needed in order for our genital system to be healthy.  Without regards or concerns of it, the function of the genital system will be affected that may cause issues that can be fatal or even worse, death.

          One of the issues of unhealthy reproductive system is HIV/AIDS. HIV or Human Immunodeficiency Virus is a disease that would make your immune system weak and failure to work its function and if this would get worse it could lead to AIDS or Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. This desease is incurable meaning, there's no cure at all. Most prone of this disease is teenagers and adolecents. This disease is sexually transmitted and one of the reason of this is having many partners. Most of the people who died are in the age of 15-49 years old.           This disease may be incurable but there's what we called medicines that would help lessen its effects and helps you live longer and have a normal life just like others but the only case is, you have maintenance in order to sustain the effects of the medicines that you're taking.  If your having a baby you also need certain medicines for the baby not to get infected with the disease. "Prevention is better than cure" this quote is very essential to us because living in this world, there's a lot of good and bad surprises. If there's a new medicine, there's also a new disease. Think twice before doing an action because every action has a consequence.

“Breathtaking Battle Amidst The Black Panthers And Red Falcons”

                  
                  Asian College Of Technology celebrated the intramurals last November  27-29, 2019 and if you’re going to talk about  intramurals,  intramurals consists of various activities for the students to enjoy and showcase their skills and talents. Among all games, ACT held the first ever “Mobile Legends: Bang Bang” tournament. Mobile Legends is a well-known online game around the world and which is why many students, specifically, play this game seriously. The game consists 5 players each team and the main goal in the game is that whoever base gets destroyed first, wins.           

     The pattern of the game is that first, there’s a preliminary game between the 4 teams: Red Falcons, Blue Phoenix, Golden Lions and Black Panthers. The losers will battle each other same as the winners but the place that the losers fight is only the 4^th and 3^rd place while the winners will fight for the 2^nd and 1^st place. Both teams have the chance to ban heroes for them to gain advantage. In the preliminary game the Red Falcons won against the Golden Lions while on the other side, the Black Panthers won against the Blue Phoenix.

            

                  In the championship game both winners, Black Panthers and Red Falcons planned a strategy for them to get a dire victory on the battle. In the match, the Red Falcons has the advantage because the line-up of their heroes counter the heroes of the Black Panthers. But the Black Panthers dominated on the early game of the match and the Red Falcons was having a hard time to balance the game. The Red Falcons managed to comeback  and wipe out the heroes of the Black Panthers and because of that they destroyed the base and won the game.

           

"Bakit Ba Tayo Nanghuhusga"

                    

                 Ano ba ang panghuhusga? Ito ang abilidad na bumuo ng desisyon o gumawa ng konklusyon ukol sa isang bagay. Ang mga tao ay may iba’t-ibang katangian at pananaw sa isang tao o bagay. Maraming tao ang nagtatanong  o natataka kung bakit ba tayo nanghuhusga? Itong katanungan na ito ay masasagot lamang sa ating sarili. May maraming dahilan kung bakit nanghuusga tayo. Ito ang mga sumusunod na dahilan:

            

                Unang dahilan ay hindi natin gustong mahusgahan ng una kaya’t inuunahan natin sila para hindi tayo masaktan. Pangalawa ay may iba’t-ibang pamantayan sa isang tao kagaya ng panghusga ng porma ng tao o kaya’t ang kanilang abilidad o kakayahan. Pangatlo ay gusto lang natin makita ang tao na masaktan at mawalan ng kumpiyansa sa sarili o sa madaling salita ay sadista tayo dahil masaya tayo tuwing makikita natin ang kapwa tao natin nahihirapan o nasasaktan. At ang panghuli ay naiinggit tayo sa kanila tulad ng kung ano ang katangian na gusto natin ay nasa kanila o kung ano ang mga bagay na mayroon sila na wala tayo. Tayo, mga tao  ay pantay-pantay lang at hindi natin kailangan husgahan ang kapawa tao natin dahil bawat isa sa atin ay natatangi.

            

                Sa kabuuan nito ay dapat hindi natin husgahan ang tao dahil hindi natin alam ang kanilang pinagdaanan sa buhay na rason kung bakit ang isang tao ay nag-iba ang kanyang porma, pangingisip, katagian at iba pa. Wag natin ibaba ang kumpiyansa at dignidad ng tao dahil mali o hindi natin sang-ayon. Mahalin ang isa’t-isa dahil sa huli ng araw ay magtutulungan tayong lahat lalo na kung may sakuna.

           "Now I've lost all my pretty hues, would you still look my direction". This quote states that it's quite common in a relationship which is being ask by a certain couple towards his/her partner if they will stay the same even on the hard times in life and the other one. Love is love and it doesn't only comes from the physical beauty of the person but on how that person loves you and accept you for being you and if you truly love the person there's what we so-called unconditional love. True love is sturdy, unconditional affection, happy, passionate and fulfilling relationship. 

           I may not experience love yet but for me, love is love itself which is not base only on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual on the certain person but also the content of the heart . I truly believe even if heartbreak may cause you to lose yourself always look for the lesson of it and use it as basis as you move on and love again. Changes is the only permanent in this world but true love would not change at all because you love the person with all your heart, mind and soul. An example would be "Romeo and Juliet" by William Shakespeare. Their fate may be disastrous but it shows true love and even surpasses death and has no awareness and concern for possible barriers. Another example the ancient Greek mythological "Orpheus and Eurydice". He is also known for his deep love for his wife Eurydice. When his wife died,  he even go to the underworld and find her. It shows that love is selfish even if you lose your hues. If it is true love, you don't need to look for another. 

          The quotation relates to work of literature. We all know that literature most generically, is any body of written works. More restrictively, literature refers to writing considered to be an art form or any single writing deemed to have artistic or intellectual value, often due to deploying language in ways that differ from ordinary usage. The quote gives artistry in which the readers would understand it uniquely. Understanding a quote in other way is pretty much normal because we sometimes see or understand things differently. 

          Love is commonly heard by people or in a relationship but love that is unconditional, genuine, passionate is very unusual. Gender, religion, death, and race do not matter if you truly love the person. There's a saying "The course of true love never did run smooth". Even if  the beauty fades out especially when i'st because of an accident which causes beauty to fade out, you don't need to look for another but instead stay and love the person who would be there on your side in bad times or in good. In the end of the day we will grow old with saggy skin and grey hair. Beauty is not permanent and you don't need to love a person because she/he's beautiful but rather love a person who's heart is pure and treasure you the rest of her/his life.

        Paris was chosen to choose which goddess will own the golden apple which represents as the fairest among all. The three goddesses offered something to Paris so one of them will be chosen. Aphrodite offered Paris love which he will get his love one to love him back. The other two offered Paris wisdom and power. But foolishly, he chose the offer of Aphrodite which is to be loved back by Helen, his long time love and knowing his love one has a husband which is Menelaus. Paris is decision is very selfish and impractical at the same 'cause he knows that Helen is already married but he still did it. Sometimes we must let go our love ones and not bother them anymore in a way that you could ruin relationships.

             As the Trojan War begun, Paris and Menelaus fought for Helen. The truce that suppose to bring peace with both nations was stopped by Athena. She asked one of the Trojan soldiers to shoot an arrow to Menelaus in order to destroy or break the truce. The Greek gods and goddesses have powers while the Trojan soldiers or tropes have only weapons. Obviously the Greek gods and goddesses are superior and can easily win the war. My understanding in this is that mostly of them especially who are more superior than the other abuse their power just to have fun or even kill who've done nothing at all. It just shows that they are toying the decent or innocent ones.

 Deceiving Polyphemus

         After the Trojan War, Odysseus landed on the island where there's a lot of cyclops. Odysseus and his men encountered Polyphemus, a cyclops. Polyphemus blocked the cave with a big boulder and to lure Polyphemus, Odysseus gave him a wine and after Polyphemus got asleep. Odysseus and his men grab a stick with a sharp end while the edge is burning and stabbed it to the cyclops' eye. They used that opportunity to escaped from Polyphemus. If I were in the position of Odysseus, I will do the same thing as he did just to escape and not get eaten by the cyclops. In that situation you really need to be wise enough to overcome it.

 Cronus Devouring His Children

           In the story of "The Creation", in this part Cronus ate his children alive. He devoured his children 'cause he doesn't want the prophecy to happen which is he will be replace by one of his children and reign the throne. He feared to be replaced by one of his children in which you can see he is really thirsty of power and wanted to reign forever as possible. It shows that fear could lead to taking lives of innocent ones. Feeling fear is normal but don't let it eat your whole being.

Trojan War

          War is a tragic event wherein there's a winner and a loser in a battle. There are two different types of war; a war that is not lethal or should I say a friendly war, and a war that consists life and death. War is something we don't really want to happen isn't it? What I've learned from war is that, this event is sometimes or would help us to be strong and have confidence in any situations. When there's war, it pushes us to try our best to win whatever it takes just to not experience what we so-called failure. But the failure that we would experience would help us try and try until we succeed.

          Did the Trojan War really happen? This is the question that many people want to find the answer so the answer of it is no, 'cause the war did not really happen. There's no proof at all the Trojan War actually happen. The Trojan War and the events ensuing thereafter are the subject of the Iliad and the Odyssey, the two foundational epics of all Greek and, by extension, western literature. According to the Scholars that the recent excavation of the Archaeologist  that an inhabited area 9-10 times the size of the citabel making Troy a significant Bronze Age city. By the way Troy is a real city.

         
         The story somewhat helped me express or resolve my conflicts with others 'cause it taught me to think properly in making decisions especially when it's something big or could have a great impact to myself and others and possibly to the society. Sometimes in life that we need to be practical especially when we know it's something good for us. There are some things that you must decide even if it's not a big deal 'cause big problems start with the small ones. Paris decision there is selfish and impractical it's because he let his emotions control him which caused the war in the story.


         To sum up everything is that every action of a human being has an impact, it may be to you or to others. Sometimes in life, we must not let our emotions decide or else you'll regret it. Love is a powerful word that makes a human do an actions to it even it's not good or could destroy a relationship. Be sane always and remember not to let neglect small matters and also not to let your emotions eat you and do regrettable actions.

Reflection: Pakistan Earthquake Preparedness Plan

     Pakistan has a strong institutional structure to prepare for and respond to natural disasters. The earthquake in 2005 was the catalyst that resulted in the creation of the Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) and initiated a conversation on setting up a formal disaster management authority and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). NDMA is the lead agency at the federal level to deal with disaster management activities. The NDMA is a huge improvement on the National Calamities (Prevention and Relief) Act of 1958 that previously governed disaster-related activities. It is also aimed to strengthen disaster preparedness and focus on risk reduction. Despite these institutional improvements, competing interests remain a problem at every level, especially when it comes to the political economy of disaster relief. Mission overlap between policy making institutions also results in coordination issues and communication gaps. ERRA continues to exist despite NDMA being the federally backed body designated to lead. Recently, a Ministry of Climate Change was formed, but the issue of climate change has many overlaps with disasters and, hence, the relations between these bodies remain contentious. In short, given the frequency and intensity of recent events and the government’s institutionalized response, disaster management can certainly be considered a national and local priority. However, when it comes to disaster risk reduction, there remains a strong need for a coherent plan that would delineate the division of functions between the national and local level.

         The Pakistan’s preparation and structures for the earthquakes are very helpful in lessening the casualties and damage of a certain buildings. Pakistan is one of the most seismically active countries in the world, being crossed by several major faults. As a result, earthquakes in Pakistan occur often and destructive. The earthquakes there are mostly destructive and devastating which make people frightened and old or poorly built structures suffer considerable damage. Earthquakes are occurs anytime of the day and without knowing how strong the intensity and magnitude are. The steel bracings make us less worried because it will support the building or house to stay intact as possible which makes the steel bracings convenient.

    Both the Philippines and Pakistan has an authority and agency regarding with the Earthquake preparedness. For the country Pakistan, they are under the help of an authority which is the Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority. The ERRA is in partnership with the agency, National Disaster Management Authority, in regards with Earthquake preparedness. Both the ERRA and NDMA are responsible for managing the people of Pakistan to a safe place. As for the Philippines, they have the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council. This management is a working group of various government, non-government, civil sector and private sector organizations of the Government of the Republic of the Philippines established by Republic Act 10121 of 2010. The NDRRMC plans and leads the guiding activities in the field of communication, warning signals, emergency, transportation, evacuation, rescue, engineering, health and rehabilitation, public education and auxiliary services such as firefighting and the police in the country.

    In terms with calamity, both countries, the Philippines and Pakistan, has a solid structure upon being prepared when a calamity pass. They are prone to volcanology and earthquake happenings as both are located in the Alpine-Himalayan Belt, also known as the Pacific Ring of Fire. Their agency regarding with calamities are not align with proper management as their plans are turbulent. For instance, when there is a place in Philippines that is a plate boundary, there are still people living in that certain place and the agency did not do something. But as for performances, people survived with a proper management by these authorities.

    Happiness can be anything as long as you perceive it as happiness. Happiness is when your life fulfills your needs. In other words, happiness comes when you feel a sense of contentment as if life is exactly as it should be. For me, genuine happiness creates miracles: it stabilizes one's emotions, makes life much longer, creates new friendships, and may also cure depression. Happiness will always vary from person to person. However, my family, friends, and talking to God are my main sources of that, and I also think most people's happiness is the same as mine. It may be true that money doesn't buy happiness, but it's happiness that doesn't last because I also believe that true happiness comes from the memories that you've made with the people you cherish.

    The lesson that I badly need to absorb from the poem is "not to compare myself to others because it makes me bitter and discouraged." I really need to learn this because there are times when I feel insufficient. Some people will always put pressure on you to be better, despite the fact that they are unaware of how difficult it is to change and simply be appreciated by others. Even though it does not sit right for me, I always try my hardest to be better, even if I don't know what's wrong with me. They don't realize that changing oneself is emotionally and mentally torturous. But as I grow older, I have slowly learned how to start embracing my flaws and ignoring unsolicited opinions about me. Indeed, learning sometimes does require a lot of time for you to fully comprehend and realize that you cannot please everyone, no matter how hard you try.

    Honestly speaking, for me, poems do not really have such an impact on resolving my personal conflicts because I believe that the best way to resolve problems in life is through actions. Though those who understand you may encourage and motivate you that everything will be fine, aside from that, at the end of the day, it will be up to you to face your own hurdles. But "hopeful poetry" is still a factor, as it gives me light during my despair, and we always remember that action is a must. Thus, the line of poetry reads, "When life gets you down, don't sit and mope; take action, and always have hope." 

    To encapsulate everything that has been stated so far, you can either find your happiness or be your own happiness. A poem is one way to express unspoken feelings and emotions. And do not compare yourself to others, because it will just make you bitter. Stay you, be bright, and face problems optimistically.
